Auslan sign: frog

Activity:

Did you know that there are ten frog species occurring here and along Darebin Creek? The best time to listen for their chorus is during the peak breeding time of October to December.

Can you spot floating or submerged aquatic vegetation? Frogs love this habitat to call from, and lay their eggs on, as well as hide and feed within vegetation on the edges of wetlands. Also, many frogs also like to bask and warm up on logs and rocks in or near the water at dusk.

Try joining a frog census later this year. www.melbournewater.com.au/water-data-and-education/get-involved/be-citizen-scientist/frog-census
