Auslan sign: cockatoo
Activity:
Count how many nest boxes can you see, standing in the one spot, at this marker, do they look different?
Different types of nestboxes provide shelter and safe breeding areas to parrots and other hollow-dependent animals, such as kookaburras, cockatoos, microbats and possums - the size of nestboxes and and the position and size of entry holes determines what animals can enter and use the nestboxes.
Did you see any animals using the nestboxes you saw here? Keep an eye out for different ones further along the trail.
